We have partnered with Clear Channel, a leading provider of out-of-home advertising solutions, to broadcast more than 47,000 digital plays of our campaign content on their Adshel live screens around Bristol. With over 1,200 locations to choose from, including bus stops and busy pedestrian areas, we wanted to take a strategic approach and narrow it down to just 10 high-impact sites.
We started by web-scraping the UK Housing & Area statistics for the 77 postcodes to gain insight into various divisions of income, education and employment. We then used the Open Data Bristol platform to filter the sites by proximity to key places such as supermarkets and hospitals, before incorporating visualisations from Strava's heat map for the region. Other publicly available data sets such as past pedestrian and traffic data available from Google was also used to narrow down locations.
"I am writing to thank you and the 180DC Bristol team for the work that you’ve been doing for Age UK Bristol for some months now. I’m delighted with the support that you have given to us in respect of financial planning, fundraising, communications, virtual activities and use of social media. My team have found all members of the 180DC team to be helpful, very friendly and keenly interested in making improvements to our systems and suggesting new ways of doing things.
I very much appreciate your proactive approach as you have suggested ways in which you can help. I’ve been particularly impressed with the way that you have honed in on areas where we could improve and done so in a way that still engages well with my staff team. At all times, the 180DC team has remained a friendly and supportive resource, able to work with a wide range of people at Age UK Bristol.
The speed at which the 180DC team work is remarkable. After initial briefings, you have kept us updated at regular intervals, quickly returned with an outline of the product or ideas that you are developing for us and finished work at a pace that we could not possibly have matched. The energy and commitment that each member of the 180DC team gives to every piece of work or request from us is commendable.
I would not hesitate to recommend CSRN's services to other voluntary organisations as you have made real and demonstrable improvements to the way that we work. It is a genuine pleasure to have meetings with the 180DC Bristol team.
Thank you for all your support – it is very much appreciated."
